Kombucha & Chia Seed Jam Recipe

We made this in a reused 300ml glass jar and LOVED it on toast, in porridge, and made into healthy jammy dodgers with some thick yogurt and an oat cake!

You'll need a few blueberries to soak in fresh Kombucha. Fill jar up 2/3rds. After a couple hours of infusing, mash the blueberries and add in 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and optional tablespoon of psyllium husk powder. STIR WELL.

Store in the fridge and add to EVERYTHING! YUM. More recipe details here.

Kombucha SCOBY Face Mask Recipe

We keep a glass jar of blended Kombucha SCOBY in the fridge especially for our special face mask recipe whenever it is needed!

My favourite mask has a couple drops of tea tree oil added in for extra skin loving goodness, but we have lots of other recipes using other essential oils for different skin types here.

The recipe is as simple as mixing a tablespoon of blended SCOBY with an essential oil of your choice (or no oil at all) and spreading over your face and neck. Leave to dry (around 10 mins) and then wash off.

ALWAYS do a patch test before putting anything new all over your face.

Fruity Kombucha SCOBY Winders Recipe

This recipe is so fun to do with kids! Its totally natural and you can use lots of different types of fruit too. We have a list of recipes here.

Basic recipe is to blend a mixture made up of half Kombucha SCOBY and half fruit until its a smooth paste and totally combined.

Add this mixture to a baking tray with baking paper, and spread to a layer of around 2 - 3mm thick.

Dry the mixture using a dehydrator or an oven. Time to dry will depend on the method you use. Once dried, allow to cool, and cut and roll however you please.

We made a chocolate dip to have with ours!

Reusable Kombucha SCOBY Eye Patch Recipe

You'll need a spare Kombucha SCOBY for this recipe, the bigger and thinner the better.

You need to slice the SCOBY up into moon type shapes to sit underneath your eyes.

You can soak and store these strips in a mixture of Kombucha and essential oils to add extra health benefits for your skin, and keep in the fridge for cooling effect, but remember not to use these again for making Kombucha.

List of recommended oil recipes here, and please do a patch test before adding anything new to your face.

Kombucha Hair and Scalp Rinse

Kombucha is great at balancing the pH of your scalp, and adding shine to hair by removing any dead skin build up.

I find it most practical to keep a pre-made batch in a spray bottle so that I can add it onto my scalp 30 mins before I wash my hair. I have found that I don't need to wash my hair so often, and that my scalp has less irritation from products, which is great.

Mix tart Kombucha with water, and any essential oils you like (recipe suggestions here) and simply spray onto hair and scalp just before washing - simple.

And no, it doesn't small at all.
